India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah might be rested for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, set to begin on September 19.
Notably, Bumrah was also rested for the recent three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, which India lost 2-0, with one match ending in a tie.
The fast bowler, who was the hero of the T20 World Cup 2024, has had a hectic schedule. He played in the five-match Test series against England, then participated in IPL 2024, and later competed in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Mohammed Shami Set to Return
While Bumrah might be rested for the Bangladesh series, Bengal pacer Mohammed Shami is expected to return to the national team for this series.
Shami has been on the sidelines since the end of the ODI World Cup 2023, where India lost to Australia in the final. He had been recovering from an ankle injury, for which he underwent surgery, followed by rehabilitation.
