India’s first T20I against Bangladesh, originally scheduled for October 6 in Dharamsala, has now been moved to Gwalior.
Additionally, the venues for the first and second T20Is of England’s tour of India in January 2025 have been swapped.
The first match will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, followed by the second at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. The dates for these matches remain the same.
The BCCI announced the change on August 13, explaining in a release that the “venue shift was required after a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal due to their prior commitments and obligations for Republic Day.”
Initially, Chennai was scheduled to host the first T20I on January 22, with Kolkata hosting the second on January 25.
As for the adjustment in the Bangladesh series, the board confirmed that the move from Dharamsala to Gwalior was required due to “the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association conducting upgrades and renovation work in the dressing rooms.”
