After two successful editions of the SA20, the third season of the tournament is scheduled to take place next year in January. All six teams have retained their key players and pre-signed some star names, with the auction for SA20 2025 set for October 1. 

The auction for the third season of SA20 will be held in Cape Town. Additionally, each franchise will be required to choose their Season 3 Rookie, while three franchises still have a wildcard to reveal before December 30. 

Meanwhile, the teams have secured some big names ahead of the season, with MI Cape Town signing England Test captain Ben Stokes and Trent Boult, while Paarl Royals have added Joe Root and former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik to their roster.

On the other hand, teams like Joburg Super Kings have signed Jonny Bairstow and Devon Conway, while Durban Super Giants have secured top players like Chris Woakes and Kane Williamson.
