Pakistan’s Saim Ayub, a left-handed batter, made a quick impact on the third day of the first Test against Bangladesh by dismissing the star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. The match is being played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

On Day 3, Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan started their innings with a careful approach. They put up a 31-run partnership for the first wicket. However, Zakir was dismissed by Naseem Shah in the 17th over, which disrupted the top order.

Later, Najmul Hossain Shanto was dismissed by Khurram Shahzad in the 27th over, reducing Bangladesh to 53/2. Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque then joined hands for an 81-run stand, taking the score to 134/2 by Lunch.

However, Shadman was out for 93, leaving Bangladesh at 199/4 at Tea. Following Tea, Saim Ayub impressed with his spin bowling by taking the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan, which is also his maiden Test scalp.

On the fourth ball of the 73rd over, Saim Ayub bowled a length delivery pitched wide outside off stump. The left-hander, tempted by the wide ball, advanced to drive but misjudged it, hitting it off the bottom of his bat. This resulted in an easy catch for Shan Masood at cover.
