Indian batter Smriti Mandhana will join the Adelaide Strikers for the 2024 Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). The Strikers, who claimed the WBBL titles in both 2022 and 2023, will look for a hat-trick of championships.
Smriti Mandhana has previously played three seasons with the Hobart Hurricanes, Brisbane Heat, and Melbourne Renegades. Here’s what the Indian batter said on the development:
“I always look forward to playing in Australia, and I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to a team with a history of success like the Strikers,” Smriti Mandhana said.
Smriti Mandhana’s Numbers in BBL
In 38 WBBL matches, the left-handed batter has scored 784 runs, averaging 24.50 with a strike-rate of 130.01. Her highest score, an unbeaten 114 off 64 balls, was achieved against the Renegades in November 2021 at Ray Mitchell Oval in Harrup Park, Mackay.
Smriti Mandhana will team up with Luke Williams, who serves as the coach for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). They have previously worked together at the Southern Brave in The Hundred Women’s competition.
