What is Red Card Rule?
The Caribbean Premier League implemented a red card rule to manage slow over rates and keep matches on schedule. Umpires can issue a red card if a team is behind schedule by the 20th over, reducing the team to 10 players on the field.
In the third game of CPL 2024, the Trinbago Knight Riders faced the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, who were penalized with a red card for being behind schedule at the start of the 20th over.
As a result, Captain Andre Fletcher had to remove a fielder for the final six balls of the innings.
