Litton Das, the wicketkeeper-batter from Bangladesh, may have played one of his top Test innings on Sunday, August 1. In the 2nd Test match, he came to Bangladesh’s rescue when the team was reeling at 26/6 in 12 overs.

Litton Das showed a lot of patience and determination and hit a stunning century while wickets were tumbling from the other end. He scored a century with a boundary against Abrar Ahmed from 171 balls.

Litton reached his century while batting alongside Hasan Mahmood. Earlier, he had steadied the innings with Mehidy Hasan Miraz when Bangladesh was at 26/6, close to their worst-ever team innings in Test cricket.

The pair added 165 runs over nearly 40 overs, rescuing Bangladesh from a dire situation. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was eventually dismissed for 78 runs from 124 balls.

This was Litton’s 4th century in Test matches, his first in Pakistan, and it came exactly when Bangladesh needed it.

Litton, together with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, managed to hold their ground despite the early challenges posed by Pakistan pacer Khurram Shahzad.

After weathering his pace, the duo steadily began to score runs. As the Pakistani bowlers lost their line on a promising pitch, Litton and Mehidy scored consistently with boundaries.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh is 251/8 after 74 overs and trailing by 23 runs.
