The Australia cricket team recorded a groundbreaking 113/1 in their powerplay overs at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh, Scotland, setting a new record for the highest powerplay score by a full-member team in T20I history.
Due to a phenomenal performance from Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh, Australia reached 113/1 at the conclusion of the powerplay, setting a record for the highest powerplay score in T20I history by a full-member team.
Before today’s match, South Africa (102/0 vs West Indies in 2023) was the only other full member team to exceed the 100-run mark in a T20I powerplay.
However, the record for the highest powerplay score in T20I history belongs to Romania, who scored 116/0 against Serbia in just 5.4 overs in 2021.
