Jake Fraser-McGurk, often referred to as David Warner’s successor in the Australian cricket team, made his T20 international debut against Scotland on September 3.
The youngster’s debut was highly anticipated, especially after he made headlines in the 2024 IPL with 330 runs and an astonishing strike rate of 234.04 while playing for Delhi Capitals (DC).
However, Jake Fraser-McGurk’s T20 international debut was disappointing, with him being dismissed for a duck after only three balls. He also became the first Australia top order batter to register a duck on T20I debut.
Fraser-McGurk, who came in during the second innings, was dismissed for a duck after just three balls when he mishit a pull shot, resulting in a catch by Charlie Cassell at mid-on.
Third Australian To Get Dismissed for Duck on T20I Debut
With this, the 22-year-old became the first Australian top-order batter and the third Australian overall to be dismissed for a duck on debut.
Previously, Ashley Noffke (2007) and Jhye Richardson (2017) were the other Australians to register ducks on their T20I debuts, with Noffke notably getting out for a diamond duck against New Zealand in Perth.
