As India and Bangladesh fought on the field at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, a troubling incident happened in the stands. Tiger Roby, a well-known super fan of the Bangladesh cricket team, was allegedly attacked by a few Indian fans during the first day of the second Test match.
Fan Injured and Taken to Hospital
According to reports, Roby had to be taken to a nearby hospital after the altercation. The police intervened, and offered medical help to the injured fan. The exact reason for the fight remains unclear, but Roby was visibly hurt and needed treatment.
News agency PTI shared a video on social media, showing Roby being escorted by the police. The message stated:
“Bangladesh cricket team’s ‘super fan’ Tiger Roby was allegedly beaten up during the India-Bangladesh second Test in Kanpur.”
Roby’s Condition and Incident Details
Roby, dressed in his signature tiger costume, was seated in stand C when the incident took place. An official from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association confirmed that Roby struggled to communicate the exact details of the fight but was clearly in pain. He mentioned being punched in the abdomen during the clash.
The situation worsened when Roby left the stands, wincing in pain and nearly fainting. He was offered a chair, but collapsed soon after. First aid was given to him, and an ambulance was called to take him to the hospital.
However, due to a delay in the ambulance’s arrival, the stadium’s medical team transported him to the nearest facility.
The authorities are still looking into the matter to find out what led to the unfortunate incident. More details are awaited as the investigation continues.
