The SA20 2025 auction, held on October 1, was a smooth affair for the Durban Super Giants, who entered with little to worry about. With only one vacant spot left in their squad, they didn’t need to be overly active during the auction.

Durban Super Giants had already secured their core players well before the auction. Their team was nearly complete, thanks to some notable signings in the lead-up. The franchise had already roped in England fast bowler Chris Woakes and former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, which bolstered their squad significantly.

A Big Move in the Auction

During the auction, the team made just one purchase, but it was a significant one. Shamar Joseph, who played for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2024, became the team’s most expensive signing of the season at R425,000. His acquisition further strengthens the team’s options, particularly in the bowling department.
