Delhi Capitals Women have confirmed their list of retained and released players ahead of the 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL). After careful evaluations and discussions, the franchise has decided to release a few players to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
The team has made some tough decisions, letting go of players such as Laura Harris, Poonam Yadav, Ashwani Kumari, and Aparna Mondal. Sourav Ganguly, Director of Cricket, expressed that releasing players from a successful squad is never easy. However, the decision was made with a long-term vision to build a more complete and balanced team.
“Our coaches & scouts have identified the players that we believe will make this team even more complete, balanced and robust as we aim to lift the trophy,” said Ganguly.
Delhi Capitals have retained a strong core of players, with star players like Meg Lanning (captain), Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, and Marizanne Kapp staying with the squad. The team also retains international talents like Jess Jonassen, Alice Capsey, and Annabel Sutherland, ensuring a mix of experience and youth for the 2025 season.

With the WPL 2025 mini-auction just around the corner, Delhi Capitals have INR 2.5 crore left in their purse. This will give them the flexibility to make strategic signings and further strengthen their squad.
Retained Players: Alice Capsey, Arundhati Reddy, Jemimah Rodrigues, Jess Jonassen, Marizanne Kapp, Meg Lanning (c), Minnu Mani, Radha Yadav, Shafali Verma, Shikha Pandey, Sneha Deepthi, Taniyaa Bhatia, Titas Sadhu, Annabel Sutherland.
Released Players: Laura Harris, Ashwani Kumari, Poonam Yadav, Aparna Mondal.
Remaining Purse: INR 2.5 Crore.
