The Australian cricket team was seen wearing black armbands during the second pink-ball Test against India at the Adelaide Oval on Friday. This gesture was made to honor the memory of Phillip Hughes, a former Australian cricketer, on the 10th anniversary of his untimely death.

Remembering Phillip Hughes

Phillip Hughes tragically passed away on November 27, 2014, after being hit on the head by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match. His sudden demise shocked the cricketing world and left a lasting impact on Australian cricket.

Although the exact anniversary was last week, Cricket Australia decided to pay tribute to Hughes during the high-profile day-night Test. A special documentary celebrating Hughes’ life and career was screened at the Adelaide Oval before the match started.

The tribute wasn’t limited to the national team. Players participating in Sheffield Shield matches last week also wore black armbands to remember the New South Wales cricketer. Hughes’ death remains an emotional chapter in Australian cricket history.
