Jimmy Peirson was the star of the chase, scoring an unbeaten 72 runs off 56 balls. He showed excellent composure and hit five boundaries and two sixes during his innings. Opening the batting, Peirson kept the scoreboard ticking and ensured there was no pressure on his teammates.

Jack Wood provided a quick start with a lively 27 off 21 balls, including three boundaries and one six. He was bowled by Hamish McKenzie in the 8th over after a 55-run opening stand.

Matt Renshaw played a brief cameo, smashing 18 runs off just 10 balls, including three boundaries, before being dismissed by Marcus Stoinis. Max Bryant then joined Peirson at the crease and finished the game in style. Bryant scored an unbeaten 36 off 22 balls, hitting three boundaries and one six.
The duo added an unbroken 78-run partnership to take Brisbane Heat home in 18.1 overs.
Melbourne Stars’ Bowlers Struggle
Melbourne Stars’ bowlers failed to create pressure on the Heat’s batting lineup. Marcus Stoinis was the most economical, conceding just 20 runs in his four overs and taking one wicket. Hamish McKenzie picked up one wicket but gave away 42 runs in his four overs. Tom Curran and Adam Milne struggled to contain the runs, conceding 34 and 25 runs, respectively, without any success.
