The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, hosted by Pakistan, will have Dubai as its neutral venue for India-Pakistan matches. As per reports from Revsportz, Dubai was finalized as the venue after Pakistan agreed to a hybrid model for the tournament. While Pakistan has no objections to this choice, the BCCI had always pushed for Dubai as the preferred venue.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to complete the formalities soon. The much-awaited tournament will begin on February 19, 2025, and will feature eight teams divided into two groups. Matches will be held at Pakistan’s Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi stadiums, alongside neutral venue games in Dubai.
Tournament Schedule and Renovation Updates
The opening match of the Champions Trophy is scheduled for February 19, with Pakistan facing New Zealand in Karachi. India will begin their journey on February 20 against Bangladesh. The most-awaited clash between India and Pakistan is set for February 23. Meanwhile, PCB is actively working on upgrading the stadiums, and the work is expected to finish in the coming weeks.
The ICC has also confirmed that all India-Pakistan games in ICC events through 2027 will be played at neutral venues if one of the teams is hosting. This marks a historic change, as the Indian cricket team will play against Pakistan at a neutral venue during an ICC event for the first time while acting as a co-host.
