The 22nd match of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 between Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers took a shocking turn when Daniel Sams collided with Cameron Bancroft during an attempt to take a catch. The match, held at Perth Stadium, witnessed a scary moment that left both players injured.
It all happened in the 15th over of the match. Cooper Connolly hit a shot towards the square leg boundary. Both Daniel Sams and Cameron Bancroft ran toward the ball, but neither of them saw the other. In a terrible turn of events, the two players collided head-on while trying to catch the ball.

Sams fell to the ground and lay motionless, while Bancroft walked away holding his nose, which was bleeding. Bancroft needed medical help but was able to walk off the field with the support of the physio.
