Dinesh Karthik made his debut in the SA20 2025 season for Paarl Royals against Sunrisers Eastern Cape on Saturday at Boland Park. The veteran wicketkeeper-batter is playing under the leadership of David Miller. England’s Joe Root has also been included in the Royals’ playing XI for this game.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the toss and decided to bat first.
Dinesh Karthik’s First Overseas League
Karthik has become the first Indian cricketer to feature in the SA20. He joined the tournament after retiring from Indian cricket in June last year. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) allows only retired Indian players to participate in foreign franchise leagues. This is also Karthik’s first cricket tournament since his retirement.
