The Durban Super Giants (DSG) had a rocky start to their chase of 170 runs against Joburg Super Kings (JSK) in Match 8 of SA20 2025. Their top order struggled, losing quick wickets while opener Brandon King showed some aggression early on.

Brandon King, who started strongly with two sixes in the second over, looked set for a big score. He was taking on the bowlers, stepping out of his crease to attack almost every delivery. However, the fourth over brought the turning point when the experienced Imran Tahir came into the attack.

King greeted Tahir with a boundary on the first ball of the over, but the 45-year-old spinner came back brilliantly on the very next delivery. Tahir tossed up a delivery, and King completely missed it while attempting a big shot. The ball crashed into the middle stump, sending King back for 17 runs off 14 balls. Tahir’s celebration was as electric as ever, sprinting across the field and nearly reaching the boundary ropes.

Adding a twist to his signature celebration, Tahir performed Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic ‘Siuuuuu’ celebration, leaving everyone in awe. His incredible fitness at this age reminded fans of former Indian captain MS Dhoni, who is also known for his remarkable physical condition even in his later years.

After King’s dismissal, the Super Giants continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Matthew Breetzke, Wiaan Mulder, and Jason Smith all fell cheaply. Tahir and Donovan Ferreira combined to break the back of DSG’s batting lineup.

At the end of 8 overs, DSG were 61/4 with Quinton de Kock (20*) and Heinrich Klaasen (4*) trying to rebuild.
