India’s women’s cricket team created history by posting a mammoth total of 435 runs against Ireland in the third ODI of their series on January 15, 2025, in Rajkot.

This record-breaking performance saw India becoming only the third team in women’s ODI cricket to score over 400 runs in an innings. India surpassed their previous record of 370, which they set just three days earlier against Ireland. With this total, India now holds the fourth-highest total in women’s ODI cricket history.

Record-Breaking Innings by India Women

India’s 435/5 in 50 overs is now the highest total in the country’s women’s ODI cricket history, breaking the previous men’s record of 418, which came against the West Indies in 2011.

This remarkable achievement further puts India among the elite teams, joining New Zealand and Australia, who are the only other teams to post totals exceeding 400 in women’s ODIs. New Zealand still holds the record for the highest score in women’s ODIs with 491/4 against Ireland in 2018.

The highlight of India’s innings was the outstanding partnership between openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal. Mandhana, who was leading the team in the absence of Harmanpreet Kaur, made the fastest century by an Indian woman in ODIs, reaching her hundred off just 70 balls. She continued her attack, finishing with 135 off 80 balls, smashing 12 boundaries and seven sixes.

Pratika Rawal, playing in just her second series for India, put on a brilliant show, scoring 154 off 129 balls. Her knock included 20 boundaries and a six, taking India’s total to an astonishing 435. Rawal’s maiden century quickly turned into a daddy hundred as she anchored the Indian innings with authority.

Richa Ghosh played a quickfire knock of 59 off just 42 balls, hitting 10 boundaries and a six. Tejal Hasabnis (28) and Harleen Deol (15) contributed in the later stages, helping India finish with a massive total.
