In the 22nd match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25, Graham Clark delivered a breathtaking knock to guide Chittagong Kings (CK) to a mammoth total of 200/7 against Khulna Tigers. After being asked to bat first, Clark’s explosive century made all the difference.
Graham Clark’s Incredible Innings
Opening the innings, Chittagong Kings had a steady start with Parvez Hossain Emon scoring 39 runs off 29 balls. However, it was Graham Clark who stole the show with a sensational 101 off just 48 balls. Clark smashed 7 fours and 6 sixes during his innings.
Clark’s innings kept the Kings in control, and he batted with a strike rate of 202.00, punishing the bowlers all around the park. His knock ended in the 16th over when Salman Irshad dismissed him, but by then, the Kings had already crossed 160 runs.
The rest of the batting lineup struggled to capitalize on Clark’s foundation, with Shamim Hossain (16) and Mohammad Mithun (11 not out) chipping in with small contributions. Despite the lower-order collapse, the Kings managed to post a strong total of 200 runs in their 20 overs.
The Khulna Tigers’ bowlers had mixed results. Salman Irshad and Mohammad Nawaz were the standout performers, picking up 3 wickets each. Nawaz was economical, conceding just 29 runs in his 4 overs. Salman Irshad, despite being a bit expensive, took crucial wickets at the death.
However, other bowlers, like Hasan Mahmud and Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby, struggled to contain the runs, with Mahmud conceding 52 runs in his 4 overs.
Chittagong Kings will hope their bowlers can defend the total, while Khulna Tigers need a strong batting display to chase down the target.
