MI Emirates delivered an outstanding performance, defeating Desert Vipers by 154 runs in the 22nd match of ILT20 2025 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Batting first, MI Emirates posted a massive total of 228/2, followed by a clinical bowling display that bundled out the Vipers for just 74 runs.
Banton and Fletcher Shine
After being sent in to bat, MI Emirates lost Muhammad Waseem early for 19 runs. However, Andre Fletcher and Tom Banton took control of the innings with a record-breaking 198-run partnership for the second wicket.
Tom Banton smashed 105 runs off 55 balls, hitting 9 fours and 7 sixes, while Andre Fletcher scored an unbeaten 96 off 50 deliveries with 10 fours and 3 sixes. The duo’s power-hitting ensured MI Emirates finished with an imposing total of 228/2.
Bowlers Dominate Vipers
In reply, Desert Vipers struggled from the start, losing wickets at regular intervals. Muhammad Rohid Khan and Alzarri Joseph were the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets each. Fazalhaq Farooqi also contributed with two wickets, as the Vipers were bowled out for 74 in just 12.3 overs.
Daniel Lawrence (9) and Azam Khan (12) were the only batters to reach double figures for the Vipers, who fell 154 runs short of the target.
