While he delivered an early breakthrough with the new ball, his awkward fall while attempting to stop a boundary left fans amused.

Shaheen Afridi’s Fumble Goes Viral

The incident took place in the 45th over of South Africa’s innings when Heinrich Klaasen played a lofted reverse-hit off Abrar Ahmed toward the boundary between short third man and backward point. Afridi sprinted toward the ball and looked well-placed to stop it, but a mistimed dive saw him tumble in an awkward fashion.

Even after his first failed attempt, Afridi tried to recover and stop the ball near the rope but misjudged it again, allowing four runs to South Africa. The moment quickly went viral, with fans mocking Pakistan’s reputation for sloppy fielding, as Shaheen’s miscalculated effort only added to the team’s history of fielding blunders.
