Pakistan’s hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy has already faced criticism for poor management. Now, a new controversy has sparked anger, especially among Indian fans. A man was detained and allegedly beaten by security officials at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium for waving an Indian flag during a match.
Man Dragged Out For Holding Indian Flag
A video circulating on social media shows officials dragging the man away and snatching the flag from his hands. He was dressed in black pants, a black jacket, and aviators. Reports suggest this happened during the Australia vs England match.
The man’s identity and nationality remain unknown. No official statement has been issued by Pakistani authorities as of now.

Security Officials Heckle The Man
Social media footage shows security personnel accosting the man and forcing him out of the seating area. However, there is no evidence confirming that the individual is Indian. Pakistan officials have not addressed the situation, which has led to speculation about whether displaying the Indian flag caused the reaction.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Bangladesh have been knocked out of the Champions Trophy after New Zealand defeated Bangladesh by five wickets in Rawalpindi. This victory secured a semifinal spot for both New Zealand and India.
