Bengaluru is set to host GAFX 2025, India’s premier AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality) conference. Organized by the Ministry of ITBT, Karnataka, the event will take place from February 27 to March 1, 2025, at Hotel Lalit Ashok.
With an expected attendance of over 20,000 participants, GAFX 2025 promises to be the largest platform for creators, developers, investors, and studios within the AVGC-XR ecosystem. This year’s theme, “Future of Immersion: EXPERIENCE. EXPLORE. DISRUPT.,” highlights the event’s focus on cutting-edge innovations in immersive technology.
Shri Priyank Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for the Departments of Electronics, IT, Bt, and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka, stated, “We see our role as an accelerator, fostering the fusion of human creativity with AI tools in ways that will transform this sector.”
The conference will feature several first-time initiatives, including a public-access expo, a creative zone, an innovation hub, and the live finals of a national esports tournament. Immersive conference sessions will bring together world leaders to discuss future trends and business models shaping the entertainment industry. The public-access expo will allow enthusiasts and aspiring professionals to witness the latest advancements in the AVGC-XR space, while the innovation hub will showcase groundbreaking projects from startups and established companies.

“This year’s event features funding opportunities for startups and IP creators alongside a global showcase of AVGC-XR innovations,” said Dr. Ekroop Caur, Secretary, Department of Electronics, IT, Bt, Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka. She further highlighted Karnataka’s continued commitment to nurturing talent and fostering growth in the digital media industry.
Mr. Biren Ghose, Chairman of Bengaluru GAFX and President of ABAI, added, “ GAFX 2025 unfolds trends in AI-driven visual arts and cognitive sciences, transforming ideas into immersive experiences.” He also mentioned that GAFX 2025 will host over 50 pitch sessions, providing creators with direct access to investors and industry leaders.
The conference will host renowned industry leaders, including Warner Brothers, ILM, Technicolor Group, Maddock Films, D-Neg, Nvidia, Autodesk, and Amar Chitra Katha. Past editions have seen participation from Walt Disney Animation, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Netflix, and Rockstar Games.
Attendees can expect sessions on generative art, real-time rendering, and interactive storytelling, emphasizing how these technologies are reshaping content production. The event will also include workshops and masterclasses conducted by experts from the AVGC-XR industry, providing participants with hands-on experience and practical insights.
GAFX 2025 will also emphasize Karnataka’s focus on infrastructure, skill development, R&D investment, and creative collaboration. The conference aims to strengthen the state’s position as a global hub for immersive media and entertainment, driving India’s leadership in the AVGC-XR space.
