India got a big relief in the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final. Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed Travis Head, who had troubled India before. The Australian opener scored 39 runs from 33 balls with the help of five boundaries and two sixes.

Australia won the toss and chose to bat first. Head struggled at the beginning but soon found his rhythm. He played a flick shot over square leg, reminding Indian fans of his performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 final.

It looked like Head would once again take the game away from India. The Indian bowlers were under pressure. But Rohit Sharma made a smart move just in time.

Varun and Gill’s Perfect Teamwork

Rohit introduced Varun Chakaravarthy into the attack, and the plan worked. In the ninth over, Varun bowled a full delivery at the off-stump. Head stepped forward and tried to hit the ball over long-off. But he could not time it well, and the ball went high in the air.

Shubman Gill ran towards the ball and took a brilliant catch. The Indian players celebrated with joy. Rohit Sharma looked happy, and Virat Kohli gave Head an intense send-off. This reaction showed how big this wicket was for India.
