Team India bounced back strongly in the series after a jailbreak in the first ODI against New Zealand. A comprehensive win by 8 wickets helped the hosts seal the series with a match to go and with it being already in the bag, the hosts might look to rest some players and the Black Caps have an opportunity to avoid a whitewash.

The Indian team led by the bowlers skittled out New Zealand cheaply in the second ODI and sealed the three-match series, with a game in hand.
