Oman has named their squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, with Aqib Ilyas taking the reins as captain, replacing Zeeshan Maqsood.

Ilyas, an experienced all-rounder, has captained Oman in 2 ODIs and 7 T20Is and is known for his consistent performance. He expressed his honour at leading the team and emphasised their rigorous preparation for the World Cup.

“I am truly honoured to be entrusted with the captaincy. It’s a huge responsibility, and I aim to lead the team to many victories. We are preparing rigorously for the World Cup, and the recent ACC Premier Cup has provided us with invaluable preparation,” Ilyas said.
