During a press conference to address the squad selection for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, Team India captain Rohit Sharma came up with a humorous response when questioned about the lack of an off-spinner.

With four spinners already in the squad, a reporter asked about the missing off-spin element. In a lighthearted reply, Rohit Sharma raised his hand, indicating that he himself is an off-spinner, and can roll his arm, if required.

This isn’t the first time Sharma’s bowling abilities have been acknowledged. After the Asia Cup 2023 squad announcement, Agarkar had expressed hope that players like Sharma and Virat Kohli could contribute with their bowling in the 2023 ODI World Cup, given the lack of part-time bowlers compared to the 2011 World Cup squad.

Interestingly, the Indian captain did bowl in the league stage match against the Netherlands during the ODI World Cup, even picking up a wicket in the final over.
