Pakistan Cricket Team

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed an 18-man squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England, with the final ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad announcement expected after these series completion.

This series serves as the final preparation stage before the highly anticipated T20 World Cup, and the PCB is closely monitoring player performance to finalize the official squad.

Core Unit Retained, Fast Bowlers Return

The squad features Pakistan’s core unit from their recent 2-2 draw against New Zealand in a 5-match T20I series played at home. Notably, the team welcomes back fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali, who missed the recent series against New Zealand.

Hasan Ali will be making his national team comeback in January 2024, and his first T20I appearance since September 2022. Haris Rauf, a key player from Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2022 runner-up team, returns after recovering from a shoulder injury sustained during PSL 9.

They join a strong pace attack that includes Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, and Mohammad Amir. Spin duties are likely to be handled by Imad Wasim and Abrar Ahmed, with Iftikhar Ahmed providing additional spin bowling options.
