PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced on Sunday that every member of the 15-player Pakistani squad stands to receive a cash reward of PKR 2.77 crore should they emerge victorious in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in the USA and the West Indies.

Although Pakistan has not yet announced their squad for the upcoming mega event, it is expected to be similar to the lineup they named for their recent tour of Ireland and England last Wednesday.

According to PCB sources, Naqvi made the announcement upon reaching Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, where the Pakistan team, led by Babar Azam, kicked off their national camp on Saturday.

The PCB announced on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) that Mohsin Naqvi met with both players and officials during his visit. The board stated, “The PCB chairman spent two hours with the players.

Naqvi urged the players to play cricket without pressure and to work together as a team.

“Don’t care about anyone. Only play for Pakistan. Demonstrate teamwork on the field, and, God willing, victory will be yours. The country has a lot of expectations from you. You have to fulfil them,” he said, as quoted by Dawn.

Mohsin Naqvi gifted Mohammad Rizwan and Naseem Shah with special green shirts. Rizwan recently achieved the milestone of 3000 runs in T20I cricket, while Shah attained his 100th wicket in the T20 format.
