It’s evident that T20 cricket is undergoing a revolution, especially with the IPL 2024 matches witnessing plenty of high-scoring games, where breaching 200 runs is becoming common.

The upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, 2024, is scheduled for June. All the teams will undoubtedly be aiming to play aggressive cricket, taking on the bowlers right from the start.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan cricket team, with openers Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam leading the charge, has long been criticized for their low strike rates in T20 cricket.

During the press conference, held the day before the Pakistan team’s departure to Ireland for the three-match T20I series, Babar Azam opened up on the challenge of playing aggressive cricket.

Here’s what Babar Azam said:

“We are working on our batting according to modern day cricket. We are doing power-hitting practice as well.”

At the same time, the Pakistan captain also made it clear that while he and Rizwan have their own way of playing, Saim Ayub will exhibit intent and play aggressive cricket.

“I and Rizwan have different styles of batting. However Saim Ayub is a different batter who brings impact and can change the game within a few overs.”

The Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to depart for Ireland on May 7, where they will compete in a three-match T20 series. Following this, they will head to England for a four-match T20 series before proceeding directly to the USA for the T20 World Cup 2024.
