The Pakistan cricket team suffered a big blow ahead of the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Ireland national cricket team, as Mohammad Amir, their left-arm fast bowler, has been denied a visa and will not be able to travel to Ireland to join the remaining squad.

Mohammad Amir made headlines in December 2020 when he retired from international cricket, citing mental stress caused by management. However, he reversed his decision just before the recent series against New Zealand and rejoined the national squad.

The Men in Green are now gearing up for a three-match T20I series against Ireland. The opening match is scheduled for May 10 at the Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin, followed by two more matches at the same venue on May 12 and May 14.

The Babar Azam-led side is scheduled to depart for Ireland as planned on Tuesday, May 7. However, Mohammad Amir will not be travelling with them due to visa issues. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) remains optimistic that the pacer’s visa matters will be resolved soon and he will join the national team.
