With an unbeaten century, Suryakumar Yadav guides Mumbai Indians to a convincing seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 match held on Monday, May 6, at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

However, fans were left concerned after witnessing Suryakumar Yadav limping during the chase. Following his injury struggles in December 2023, which included an ankle issue, sports hernia diagnosis, and subsequent surgery, Suryakumar Yadav’s limping sparked fears of another injury blow.

Thankfully, the Mumbai batter clarified during the post-match presentation that it was nothing serious but fatigue stemmed from the combined effort of fielding for 20 overs and batting for nearly 18 overs – the first such instance since December. He assured fans that he expects to be fully recovered by the next day.

Here’s what Suryakumar Yadav said in the post-match conference:

“After December 2023, this is the first time i fielded for 20 overs and then batted around 18 overs in the game, so that’s why i was tired, and i will be fine by tomorrow.”

This comes as a major relief for Indian cricket fans, as Surykaumar Yadav is a crucial member of the team India ahead of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
