Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul admitted on Wednesday that they were thoroughly beaten by the amazing power-hitting of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, labelling it “unreal batting.”

Head and Sharma extended their ruthless dominance over bowlers, smashing lightning-fast unbeaten fifties to lead SRH to a convincing 10-wicket win over LSG in a must-win IPL encounter.

Chasing a modest 166, Head (89 not out, 30 balls, 8x4s, 8x6s) and Abhishek Sharma (75 not out, 28 balls, 8x4s, 6x6s) played with LSG bowlers, hitting boundaries and sixes at ease to reach the target in just 9.4 overs.

“I am at a loss for words. We’ve seen that kind of batting on TV, but this is unreal batting. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat. Kudos to their skills. They have worked hard on their six-hitting abilities.”

“They didn’t give us a chance to assess how the pitch played in the second innings. It was hard to stop them as they teed off from ball one,” he said.

Lucknow Super Giants have just two matches left, against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, both of which are must-win games. Even if they win both matches, their playoff qualification this year depends on the results of other games.
