MS Dhoni One-Handed Six

The 59th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match is scheduled for May 10th at 7:30 pm.

Chennai Super Kings are currently placed 4th on the points table after winning their last game against Punjab Kings in Dharamshala. Chennai has won 6 out of their 11 games and need to win 2 out of their remaining 3 games to make it to the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, are at the last position with 4 wins in 11 games. GT needs to win all of their games with a massive margin to strengthen their net run rate, which is poor at the moment.

Technically, it is the match between the defending champions and the champions of 2023, but the present has not been the kindest compared to history for GT.

Gujarat Titans will be led by Shubman Gill, while Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead Chennai Super Kings. Both are India’s young prodigies and have shown glimpses of the future with their captaincy.

Here are some records that could be broken in the match:

1. Dhoni Eyes 250 IPL Sixes

MS Dhoni, who is playing with an injury in this tournament, would like to give it his all in the remaining matches. Dhoni needs two more sixes to get to 250 sixes in the IPL.

2. Wade to Hit 450 Fours in T20s

The Gujarat Titans have not given Matthew Wade a consistent run. He is a formidable T20 batsman for his country and across the leagues. He is nine-fours away from hitting 450 fours in T20 cricket.

3. Dube Nearing 100 IPL Sixes Record

India’s own power hitter Shivam Dube has made his name into the elite list of batsmen across the world for hitting sixes. Shivam Dube (99) needs another six to reach 100 sixes in the IPL.

Chennai Super Kings would still eye finishing 2nd rather than just playing for qualification. Meanwhile, GT has to revive itself as each game is a must-win from now on.
