Sri Lanka Cricket unveiled its 15-member squad for the ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 on Thursday, May 9th.

Angelo Mathews, a veteran of the sport and former World Cup winning team, has been included in Sri Lanka’s lineup for the highly anticipated tournament in the USA and West Indies, commencing on June 1.

Former captain Dasun Shanaka joins him in the 15-member squad, with veteran wicketkeeper-batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa securing a reserve position. Wanindu Hasaranga will be leading the team in the biennial tournament.

Additionally, the young spin all-rounder Dunith Wellalage has also earned a spot in Sri Lanka’s World Cup squad. At just 21 years old, Wellalage has already made appearances for Sri Lanka in one Test and 21 ODI matches.
