Adelaide Strikers batter Chris Lynn suffered a scary moment during the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 match against the Hobart Hurricanes. Lynn was struck on the helmet by a ferocious bouncer from Hurricanes pacer Riley Meredith, leaving everyone in the stadium holding their breath.
The incident occurred early in the Strikers’ innings when Lynn misjudged a sharp bouncer. Trapped in two minds, he attempted to duck but was too late as the ball hit his helmet at high speed. The impact forced Lynn to his knees, with players from both teams rushing to check on him. Thankfully, the batter regained his composure after a brief pause and continued his innings.

Despite the blow, Chris Lynn showed remarkable resilience and composure. At the time of the incident, he had just 1 run to his name. However, the setback didn’t deter him as he launched a counter-attack, displaying his usual aggressive style of batting.
Lynn smashed a quick-fire 49 off just 27 balls, hitting five boundaries and three massive sixes. His impressive strike rate of 181 gave the Strikers a strong start. Unfortunately, Lynn fell one run short of his half-century, losing his wicket to Waqar Salamkheil.
The Strikers, powered by Lynn’s knock and a crucial 47 from skipper Alex Ross, posted a challenging total of 186/5.
