Afghanistan batter Gulbadin Naib has replaced the injured Mitchell Marsh in the Delhi Capitals squad for the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

The Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of IPL 2024 and returned to Australia for rehabilitation. In the four matches he played for Delhi Capitals, he scored 61 runs at a strike rate of 160 and an average of 15.25.

Gulbadin Naib has been in blistering form lately in T20 cricket. He scored two quick half-centuries against Team India in the two T20 matches earlier in January, making a significant impact.

Notably, Gulbadin Naib will be playing his debut season in the IPL this year, as he has never participated in the IPL before.

Apart from him, other Afghan star players are participating in the IPL, such as Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmed, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, among others.
