Kolkata Knight Riders

The 42nd game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will have Kolkata Knight Riders hosting the Punjab Kings at iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 25th of April, Thursday.

Kolkata has been very conservative in making changes to their playing XI; they have made some tactical changes and some due to injuries, other than that Kolkata’s management has given their players spot security.

The dynamic duo of Phil Salt and Sunil Narine will open for them again; both of them complement each other both by type and hand which has made it difficult for the opposition captain to make plans for.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi has shown what he is capable of and with time he is only going to improve. Shreyas Iyer will have to regain his form before the business end of the league starts; a fit and firing Iyer gives them another spin hitting option in their XI.

Rinku Singh and Andre Russell are probably the most dynamic finishing duo of the league; they complement each other by skill sets and by hand too.

Ramandeep Singh with his late hitting gives his team some much-needed batting depth while being a medium pacer himself he can bowl a bit in case of emergency.

Varun Chakravarthy has been a wonderful deputy to Narine; Varun has also delivered in death overs with exceptional control over line and length which gives the batter very less time to react.

Mitchell Starc despite not being at his best is expected to retain his place back into the team while his partner in crime in Harshit Rana has shown loads of promise who also possesses the talent of being a frontline fast bowler for his team.

The last position is a bit tricky; if it turns the way it did in the last game then Suyash Sharma should play ahead of a pacer.

And if it seams and swings, Vaibhav Arora will replace Suyash Sharma.

Kolkata Knight Riders Probable Playing 11 vs Punjab Kings:

Sunil Narine, Phil Salt (WK), Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh, Mitchell Starc, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, Vaibhav Arora/Suyash Sharma
