KL Rahul, captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, smashed his way into the record books on Saturday against the Rajasthan Royals. He became just the fifth batsman in IPL history to score 4000 runs as an opener, and did so in the fewest innings of any player on the list.

Rahul’s elegant 76-run knock propelled him past the milestone, needing just 35 runs at the start of the innings. This achievement took him only 94 innings, making him the fastest opener to reach 4000 runs in IPL history.

He joins an elite club that includes Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Virat Kohli, and Chris Gayle. While all these players have surpassed the 4000-run mark as openers, none have done it as quickly as KL Rahul.
