Aiden Markram has been dropped from the Sunrisers Hyderabad playing XI for their crucial clash in IPL 2024 against the Rajasthan Royals. This decision comes after a string of underwhelming performances from the South African batter throughout the IPL season.

Aiden Markram’s Struggles with the Bat

Aiden Markram has failed to live up to expectations this season, scoring only 199 runs in 9 matches with a single fifty to his name. His average of 28.43 and strike rate of 130.92 paint a picture of inconsistency, which ultimately prompted SRH to opt for a change.

Aiden Markram has recently been appointed as the captain of South Africa team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. However, his recent scores of 32 and 7 against CSK and RCB did little to inspire confidence.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, SRH opted to bring in Marco Jansen in place of Aiden Markram. The Men in Orange have managed to win five games out of the nine matches they played so far in the IPL 2024.
