While Pakistan may be delaying their announcement for their final T20 World Cup 2024 squad until late May, it’s crucial to note that the official deadline for the squad announcement, set by the ICC for all teams, has already passed.

May 1st marked the final day for the 20 participating nations to submit their 15-member squads to the ICC without requiring special permission. This means teams like India, Australia, England, and others have already locked in their core players for the upcoming biennial tournament.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has decided to take some time and assess players’ fitness and performance against Ireland and England in the upcoming series before locking in their 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.

They might have submitted the players’ list to the ICC, but they are allowed to make changes to it until May 25. Hence, they have decided not to announce it publicly and will do so only when it gets locked in completely.
