Rajasthan Royals’ leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal added another feather to his illustrious cap Tuesday, May 7. During match 56 of the IPL 2024 against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Chahal became the first Indian bowler to take 350 wickets in T20 cricket.

The wily spinner dismissed DC skipper Rishabh Pant for 15, marking his 350th victim in the shortest format. Rishabh Pant miscued a sweep shot on his leg stump, finding Trent Boult stationed perfectly at fine leg.

This landmark achievement comes on the back of another record set by Yuzvendra Chahal earlier this season. He became the first bowler to reach 200 wickets in the IPL, achieving the feat in just 153 matches.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s exceptional skills and strategic bowling have made him a vital cog in the Rajasthan Royals’ squad. This historic 350th wicket further cements his reputation as one of the finest T20 bowlers in the world.

It’s disheartening that despite his consistent performance as a top wicket-taking spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal hasn’t had the chance to represent India in the T20 World Cup. However, he’s finally been included in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

Besides Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja are also included in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad. It will be intriguing to see if Chahal secures a spot in the final lineup.
