In a major blow for their respective franchises, both Mayank Yadav and Deepak Chahar are likely out for the remainder of the IPL 2024 season due to injuries.

Mayank Yadav, the young pace sensation for Lucknow Super Giants, suffered a side strain while bowling against Mumbai Indians and was forced to leave the field. This comes after he missed the previous five matches due to another injury.

“Mayank has a tear but it is more likely a grade 1 tear. It will be cutting it fine but in case LSG qualifies for the play-offs, he might just be able to play the knock-out games. But it is like hoping against hope and right now he is doubtful for the remaining IPL games,” a BCCI source informed PTI on condition of anonymity.

Deepak Chahar, the Chennai Super Kings pacer, pulled his hamstring during their clash against Punjab Kings on May 1. CSK CEO confirmed that Deepak is unlikely to return this season.

With both players out, the focus will be on their respective replacements to step up and fill the crucial gaps left in their bowling attacks as the teams fight for a spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs.
