The West Indies have officially unveiled their 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which they will co-host alongside the USA.

The squad includes the ‘Gabba Hero’ Shamar Joseph, who is set to make his T20I debut. Shimron Hetmyer also makes a welcome return after missing the recent T20I series against Australia.

While some tough decisions were made, Kyle Mayers was omitted in favour of a lower-order batting option, and Oshane Thomas missed out on the pace attack.

The top order is expected to be filled by the likes of Johnson Charles, Brandon King, and Shai Hope.

West Indies’ strength lies in their depth, with a plethora of big hitters and all-rounders like Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd offering a variety of options.

Akeal Hossain and Gudakesh Motie provide spin-bowling support, while the pace attack is spearheaded by vice-captain Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph.
