Kolkata Knight Riders KKR IPL

The tenth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will see the clashing of two high-profile franchises in Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) taking on the local team Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 28 March, Friday.

Bangalore and Kolkata have locked horns for 32 matches in IPL. Out of these 32 games, Bangalore has been on the winning side for 14 times whereas Kolkata emerged victorious 18 times.

The Pitch dished out at the M Chinnaswamy was not the typical flat wicket which teams expect at Bengaluru, to everyone’s surprise, it aided bowlers who were willing to bend their back in search of some extra bounce which caused discomfort to the batters.

Kolkata would like to hit Bengaluru with their troika of spinners who bamboozled the Bengaluru bats twice when they met in the last season, whereas Bengaluru with Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal, Alzarri Joseph would love to bounce out the Kolkata batters with their Short pitch stuff which is the only bowling type against which Kolakata might struggle.

Key Batters to Watch for RCB vs KKR:

Venkatesh Iyer

Iyer who’s only the second batter from KKR to score an IPL hundred, just finished a decent domestic season, a wonderful basher of all types of spin bowling, Iyer will play a critical role in shielding his opening partner Phil Salt from Spin, Kolkata will surely expect some brisk starts from him.

Ramandeep Singh

Slowly and steadily Ramandeep Singh is making a mark of his name by providing some great innings cameos that shift the momentum towards his side in just a couple of overs be it for Mumbai Indians or now for Kolkata Knight Riders he has played his role with the utmost perfection in the handful chances he got.

Key Bowlers to watch for RCB vs KKR:

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj

Siraj’s stellar rise as a white ball baller has been phenomenal, the performances he has managed periodically a proof of his calibre, after missing out on the flight to Australia for the T20 World Cup a couple of years ago, this time he would want to be amongst the first line of quicks who board the flight for the World Cup alongside Jasprit Bumrah.

Harshit Rana

Rana who’s more into the limelight these days courtesy of his sendoff to Heinrich Klassen has certainly raised some eyebrows, but amidst all this, his bowling skills which are magnificent too have gone under the radar, Rana is something who is willing to do the hard yards in search of Extra Bounce which will make him a tough customer to handle the Chinnaswamy Deck.
