The 40th Match of the Indian Premier League 2024 will be played between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals. The match is scheduled on 24th April at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Teams are now in must-win situations, with each loss hurting both the points table and the club that loses the game. DC lost their previous encounter against SRH at home in Delhi. GT, on the other hand, won their previous match against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur.

This is the reverse fixture between the two sides. Delhi Capitals bowled out Gujarat Titans for just 89 in the first game between the two sides in Ahmedabad on April 17. They chased down the target inside 8.5 overs and won the match, boosting their NRR.

Both teams are currently ranked in the bottom part of the points table. DC’s NRR suffered after losing to SRH by 66 runs in the final game. In their most recent encounter, the Titans narrowly defeated the Punjab Kings, chasing 143 to win.

Gujarat Titans will be led by Shubman Gill who is making his name in the cricket world for his superb captaincy while Delhi Capitals will be led by Rishabh Pant.

Gujarat is currently at 6th position with three wins while Delhi is at 8th position with 3 wins.

Here are the top 3 records that could be broken in the match:

India’s renowned opener and GT skipper Shubman Gill has made his IPL journey memorable at such a young age. Gill made his IPL debut in 2018 and won the orange cap last year. Shubman Gill (99) is set to play his 100th IPL match.

2. Axar Eyes 1500 IPL Runs

One of India’s Bowling All-rounders who Eyes a WT20 spot is all set to create a record. Axar has been a decent batsman in the league playing good innings when needed. Axar Patel (1475) needs twenty-five runs to complete 1500 IPL runs.

3. Tewatia Nearing 1000 IPL Runs

Rahul Tewatia has made his name in IPL for his power-hitting skills. First for RR and now for GT, Tewatia has won many games single-handedly with his strong finish. Rahul Tewatia (974) needs another 26 runs to reach the landmark of 1000 runs in the IPL.

DC made a comeback in this tournament by bundling out GT’s top heavy side for a mere 89 runs, but GT would be hoping for a comeback on a perfect pitch for batsmen.
