Kolkata Knight Riders’ playing 11 sees Dushmantha Chameera replacing Mitchell Starc in the 42nd match of the IPL 2024 against Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Friday, April 26.

For those unfamiliar, Dushmantha Chameera is no stranger to the IPL, having played for the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 season. He delivered some stellar performances for them.

Earlier this year, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) signed the services of the Sri Lankan right-arm pacer, but until Friday, he hadn’t featured in any game. Now, he finally makes his debut for KKR.

Mitchell Starc, whom he replaced in the playing XI handed Chameera KKR debut cap.

During the IPL 2022 season, Dushmantha Chameera played 12 matches for LSG, taking nine wickets with an economy rate of 8.73. He can bowl both with the new ball as well as in the death overs.
